Use the instructions for the materials confirmed on your product page. For mixed-material jewelry, follow the gentlest method. If the material, plating or stone treatment is unclear, contact us before using cleaning solutions.
Sterling silver
For unplated sterling silver, gently use a polishing cloth intended for silver on exposed metal only. Avoid rubbing pearls, stones or plated finishes with a treated cloth. Store pieces separately in a soft pouch and keep them away from household chemicals.
Gold-plated and other plated finishes
Wipe gently with a soft, untreated cloth. Avoid abrasive polishing, silver dips, toothpaste and harsh cleaners. Remove before swimming or cleaning and apply perfume or cosmetics before putting jewelry on.
Pearls
Wipe gently after wear with a soft cloth; if needed, use a slightly damp cloth. Avoid perfume, hairspray and household cleaners. Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners. Do not soak strung necklaces. Store in a soft pouch away from rough objects and excessive heat.
Gemstones and stone-set jewelry
Cleaning depends on the stone, any treatments and the setting. Start with a soft, lint-free cloth. If these details are unknown, do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaning, chemical dips or prolonged soaking. Ask a jeweler for a suitable method and have loose settings checked before cleaning.
